Vildagliptin drug information

Medication Information: Insulin is a hormone that is made naturally in the body. This hormone helps control blood sugar levels. This condition can lead to diabetes mellitus (diabetes mellitus) if the body is not able to make enough insulin or use the hormone produced. People with diabetes need treatment to control their blood sugar levels. This is because controlling blood sugar levels prevents the consequences of diabetes. In some people, diet can control blood sugar levels. But some other drugs, such as vildagliptin, are also prescribed.

Wildagliptin increases blood insulin levels. It also lowers blood levels of the hormone glucagon. Glucagon produces more glucose from the liver. Therefore, by lowering glucagon levels, blood sugar levels decrease. Wildagliptin is available in pharmacies in combination with metformin under the Eucreas brand.
