Nicorandil Drug Information

Medication Information: In angina, heart pain is felt in the chest area. These pains are caused by narrowing of the heart vessels. This narrowing of the arteries reduces blood flow to certain areas of the heart. When the heart needs more blood and oxygen (for example, when climbing stairs or running), pain is felt in the chest area. Nicordil relaxes blood vessels. This condition increases blood flow and oxygen to the heart and reduces pain, as well as the likelihood of the consequences and complications of angina.

Contraindications to the use of Nicorandil

Pay attention to the expiration date of Nicordil and do not take it if your medicine has expired.

Never give Nicorandil to anyone else, even if you have the same symptoms.

• Do not take Nicorandil more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

• Check for drug interactions with Nicorandil and be sure to tell your doctor what other medication you are taking.

Nicorandil drug interaction

Drug interactions may alter drug performance and increase the risk of serious side effects. Make a list of all the medicines (including prescription / over-the-counter and herbal medicines) you use and share them with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not change the dose of your medicine without consulting your doctor or stop taking the medicine.

Tips to consider before taking Nicordil

Some medications can not be prescribed under certain conditions, and some medications may be prescribed if additional treatment is needed. Therefore, it is best for your doctor to be aware of the following before taking Nicorandil:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

• If you have low blood pressure.

• If you have recently had a heart attack or heart failure.

• If you have pulmonary edema (accumulation of fluid in the lungs).

• If you are currently taking certain medications. These include all available medicines, whether prescribed or used by your doctor, such as herbal medicines and supplements.

• If you are allergic to any medication.

Possible side effects of Nicorandil

All medications, along with their positive effects, can cause unwanted side effects in the body. However, these complications do not occur in all people. Over time, your body will adjust to the new medication and these symptoms will go away, but if the following symptoms persist or become painful, consult your doctor.

Headache: This is usually seen at the beginning of treatment. But it goes away quickly. You can also use painkillers to relieve headaches.

Feeling bored: Eat simple foods and avoid high-fat and spicy foods.

Weakness and dizziness: Avoid driving and working with tools in this situation.

Hot flashes, increased heart rate: Consult your doctor if any of these things bother you.

Important Note: Some people who use Nicorandil may develop mouth or skin sores. Although this is rare, tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms.

Talk to your doctor if you have any other symptoms that you think may be due to nicorundil.

How to store Nicorandil
