 Ciprofibrate Drug Information

Lipid is another word for fat. Cholesterol and triglycerides are a type of fat. When the concentration of lipids in your blood is too high, this condition is called hyperlipidemia. It naturally builds fat in our body and is also absorbed from the food we eat. If the blood lipid level is too high, excess fat attaches to the walls of the blood vessels, which can lead to the formation of small fatty patches growing inside the lining of some blood vessels.

This fatty patch can reduce blood flow and lead to heart disease, stroke and circulatory problems. High levels of fat do not make people feel sick, but if left untreated, they can lead to the problems listed above. Ciprofibrate prevents long-term cardiovascular disease by lowering fat levels.

High lipids in the body have no symptoms but can cause serious problems if left untreated. Ciprofibrate prevents cardiovascular disorders by lowering blood lipids. Your doctor may prescribe ciprofibrate if your blood triglyceride level is high. Ciprofibrate may also be prescribed for other types of hyperlipidemia, especially if other medications (statins) are not suitable for the patient.
