The antibiotic cefotaxime belongs to the cephalosporin family, which is used to treat multiple bacterial infections or to prevent infection after surgery. The antibiotic cefotaxime prevents the spread of infection by preventing the growth of bacteria.

Cefotaxime is usually given to you by a nurse or doctor as an intravenous injection (slowly over 3 minutes) or intramuscularly, the dose and amount of which is determined by your doctor.

To improve the effect of the antibiotic cefotaxime, inject the drug daily, at certain times of the day.

Stop taking the medicine as long as it is prescribed for you. Early discontinuation of the drug may lead to recurrence of the infection.
