Drug Information: Cefixime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, meaning that it is active against a wide range of bacteria. Cefixime is used to treat acute (short-term) bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, thoracic and throat infections, and ear infections. Cefixime kills the infection by killing the bacteria.
