Pharmacological information of Carbi Mazol

Medication Information: Antithyroid drugs such as carbidazole are used to treat hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). When the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone, it can increase the speed of many body movements and cause symptoms such as weight loss, sweating, chills and diarrhea. It may also cause symptoms such as tiredness or worry and menstrual problems. Carbimazole is used for hyperthyroidism. It does this by reducing the amount of thyroid hormones.

Carbimazole may be given alone or in combination with other hyperthyroidism medications. Carbimazole is also prescribed to prepare a person for thyroidectomy (surgery to remove all or part of the thyroid gland) and before iodine radiotherapy.
