Sertraline Drug Information Asentra

Sertraline (Asentra is a brand name for the drug Sertraline) is prescribed to treat depression, anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Depression can occur for no apparent reason or due to social issues, loss of loved ones or various illnesses. Anxiety is the most common symptom in anxiety disorder. Panic disorder, anxiety disorder, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder are all anxiety disorders.

Brain cells (neurons) called neurons secrete chemicals that have a stimulating effect on other neurons. This process creates an electrical pulse through which many brain functions are performed. Serotonin is one of these substances secreted in the brain. When these chemicals are released, they stimulate other neurons and are then reabsorbed into the neurons. SSRI antidepressants such as sertraline increase the amount of serotonin in the brain. This mechanism reduces the symptoms of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders in some patients.
